Kwasi Kwarteng set to make second U-turn in two days
The Metro says Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng is set to make another dramatic U-turn and lay out his plan to get UK debt falling earlier than planned.
He previously insisted he would wait to publish the details until November 23, but now it looks like he is expected to lay out plans early.
The move follows a dramatic U-turn on scrapping the 45p rate of income tax for higher earners.
He dismissed the negative reaction to his mini budget as a ‘hullaballoo’ and insisted ‘there’s a real kernel, a strong body of ideas’ in his plan for growth, at a Tory conference event last night.
