Want to give your kitchen a new lease of life? We got you covered (Credit: SIGNATURE KITCHEN SUITE (LG))
The kitchen is the heart of any home.
It’s where memories are made, meals are shared, celebrations are toasted and more often than not it’s the most used room in the house.
But when it comes to designing the perfect kitchen, few of us ever really think outside the box. Why not throw our personalities into it in the same fashion we would our bedroom or lounge.
And actually, it’s not that difficult to really make your kitchen pop. You can inject a burst of innovation without breaking the bank rather than giving it a total overhaul.
From impressing guests with a multi-purpose high-tech new LG refrigerator that can literally get any party started (honestly, trust us), or experimenting with different textures and prints, if you’re thinking of revamping your kitchen, there are plenty of trends to try.
To get you started, here are seven really simple ways to make sure your kitchen is ahead of the game and the envy of everyone you know.
Door-in-Door refrigerators
The LG InstaView™ Door-in-Door® is right at the front of sophistication and innovation in refrigerators (Picture: LG)
No one is pioneering sophistication when it comes to fridges quite like LG.
And what better example than the electronics brand’s truly fabulous InstaView™ Door-in-Door® design which allows you to see inside without opening your fridge at all.
With a simple double knock, the tinted glass panel will illuminate allowing you to browse through the contents inside without letting any of the cold air out, subsequently retaining all freshness.
Essentially, it’s a convenient magical lens which is not only energy efficient but easily one of the best-looking fridges on the market, immediately adding boundless class to your kitchen.
And making the InstaView™ Door-in-Door® Refrigerator even more covetable is the latest update in the ice department, because they now make slow-melting round Craft Ice™, along with the usual crushed and cubed varieties.
These two-inch round balls are loved by home mixologists as their unique size and shape help to keep drinks cooler for longer. And with the InstaView™ Door-in-Door® Refrigerator from LG, this on-trend ice is made automatically, so there’s no need to keep refilling a traditional plastic ice tray. It stores 25 ice spheres in the freezer drawer bin and with auto replenishment you don’t have to even think about topping it up mid-party.
And, if like us you love an app, you’ll be thrilled with the LG ThinQ™ mobile app which allows you to adjust the temperature or make extra ice remotely… Now that is seriously cool.
Alternatively, the MoodUP™ Refrigerator is a game-changer for the perfect host
Your fridge is getting the party started with bright lights flashing to the beat of the music from your phone (Picture: LG) Please note that the MoodUp ™ refrigerator is not currently available to buy in the UK.
We’re not exaggerating when we say the MoodUP™ Refrigerator will completely transform your kitchen experience, whether you’re cooking, hosting or simply unwinding – the LG MoodUP™ Refrigerator is a total game-changer.
As well as being equipped with LG’s notoriously advanced smart technology for unbeatable freshness, its LED doors can be lit up with a selection of playful colours and it can even play music with its built-in Bluetooth speaker, which is, and we cannot stress this enough, a genius addition.
Even better, the changeable colours can alternate to reflect your mood or occasion.
If the kids have got friends over or your hosting the in-laws, your kitchen can adapt to every situation with a nifty switch of the lights, while the music of your choice can be streamed from a variety of streaming apps or directly from the Music Collection playlist on the ThinQ™ app via its built-in Bluetooth speaker.

To really get the party started, you can even combine the bright panels with the Bluetooth speaker so the lights flash in time with the music. We kid you not.
With all the elements you could possibly need for easy but memorable entertaining, why ever leave the kitchen again?

On September 2, LG Electronics (LG) teamed up with NTS Radio to host a classy bash in Berlin, to share the brilliance of its new MoodUP™ Refrigerator.
Showcasing the creative potential of the MoodUP™ Refrigerator, the Notes + Tones event impressed guests with a range of moods by mixing colour, sound and flavour.
The fridges got the party started, with different colours and flashing lights, while guests drank delicious hand-crafted cocktails and danced all night.
We only wish we’d been there! But with the LG MoodUP™ Refrigerator we’ll be able to recreate the party vibes in our own home.
Versatility is key
Kitchens have become our living areas and work spaces (Credit: SIGNATURE KITCHEN SUITE (LG))
Over the last couple of years we’ve all spent much more time in our homes.
And for many of us that has meant working from the kitchen table or island.
Our kitchens have evolved to be so much more than the place where we cook. They’re our workplaces, living areas, meeting rooms and entertaining spaces!
And hands up anyone who has used their kitchen for a disco or two!
So when you’re designing your dream kitchen, keep its multi-purpose role in mind.
Consider a cosy corner with sofas and arm chairs where you can relax and unwind, power sockets close to where you plan to work from your laptop, consider the best lighting for both work (natural) and play (dimmable) and, of course, an LG MoodUP™ Refrigerator will help you to switch moods from professional to party in seconds!
Yes, mirrors belong in the kitchen too

Adding mirrors is such a quick and simple way to really give your kitchen an effective glow up and instantly inject more personality into the room.
Whether you’re looking to go shabby chic or you’re a fan of an industrial look, a mirror can be a fantastic statement piece.
Nifty, right?
A glazed tile

One of the most exciting up and coming trends will be shifting away from matte finishes and towards gloss, making your wall pop so much brighter. And it will make life much easier too.
How?
Not only is a gloss a beautiful finish, but it is also much easier to clean than a matte tile while reflecting the light around the room.
The perfect accompaniment to that mirror you’re going to find space for too, right?
Kitchen jewellery
A distinctive drawer knob or handle is a simple way to get your creative juices flowing (Picture: SIGNATURE KITCHEN SUITE (LG))
Just like you’d finish your outfit with your favourite piece of jewellery, your kitchen deserves the same love and attention. In turn, one of the latest trends making a big impact is kitchen jewellery.
No, we’re not talking draping pearls from your drawers… but think about adding a considered knob or handle to your cabinets to give them a unique finish that really reflects your personality.
Be it a vintage knob or a brass handle, kitchen jewellery is a lovely way to add a touch of individuality to your kitchen and really get your creative juices flowing.
And, more importantly, you’ll have a lot of fun playing around with different ideas in the process.
Be bold with colour and statement features

If you’re a fan of keeping your walls, tiles and general ambience of the kitchen pretty neutral, one of our favourite trends is the addition of a bold and vibrant statement piece when it comes to the taps or kitchen sink.
Some of the most stylish contemporary kitchens incorporate bold colours in what is otherwise a neutral space.
It’s a simple twist that immediately brightens up the entire room without dominating or distracting from the comfort of your vision.
A particularly bright royal blue or even a neon green might sound a bit out there, but really complement minimalist greys or blacks.
Alternatively, think outside the box with your sink too. Instead of a stainless steel or porcelain bowl, how about gold or even copper (as pictured above) with an unconventional tap to match.
