King’s Crown Estate wind farm to generate £1bn for Britain
The Times says The King has agreed that profits from a new Crown Estate offshore wind farm deal will go back into the UK economy, giving it a £1 billion boost.
The monarch turned down the chance to bolster Palace finances so that money is “directed for wider public good” by the government.
Three of the six projects are off the North Wales, Cumbria and Lancashire coast, and three are in the North Sea off the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire coast.
