Comedian Kathy Griffin has jokingly compared Prince Harry to the controversial actor Armie Hammer following the release of his and his wife Meghan Markle’s bombshell Netflix documentary.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex discuss how they met during the first episode of the six-part series, with 38-year-old Harry revealing he had first spotted Meghan, 41, on Instagram.
Watching the documentary for herself, Kathy, 62, admitted she was ‘disappointed’ to hear how the couple first came into contact with each other.
Taking to Instagram, the My Life on the D-List star said to her 697,000 followers: ‘What about how they met? I am disappointed. I’m just gonna tell you right to your faces.
‘They met on freaking Instagram. Yeah, Prince Harry was just flipping through Instagram looking for another hot brunette like every other guy in LA. So I’m disappointed.
‘I thought this was gonna be a great love story. I mean, have they not watched The Crown?’ she joked, before going on to recall how Prince Harry’s own family fell in love with their life partners.

‘Remember Elizabeth where she was in love with the horse guy her whole life, right? But then she couldn’t have him. And then Anne was in love with the military guy. I mean, Jesus, even Chuck and Camilla for God’s sake.’
Kathy continued: ‘But they met on Instagram. Like, Prince Harry’s like Armie freaking Hammer.
‘Yeah, what if Prince Harry is the new House of Hammer? Alright, my new favourite thing is to compare Prince Harry to Armie Hammer because it makes no sense.’

House of Hammer was a true-crime documentary about the Call Me by Your Name star after he was accused of emotional abuse, violence and sexual assault by multiple women in early 2021.
He has vehemently denied all claims.

One of Armie’s accusers, who has opted to not give her real name, slammed the documentary for ‘exposing her trauma’ after its release in September.
