It’s a girl! Comedian Katherine Ryan and her partner Bobby Kootstra have welcomed the third edition to their family brood.
Their new baby was rather a surprise, as the TV personality had welcomed her youngest child, son Fred, with partner Bobby Kootstra, just over a year ago. She is also mum to daughter Violet, 12, from a previous relationship.
The couple announced the news of their newest arrival on Instagram, with Bobby writing: ‘Fenna Grace Kootstra, Dec 16, at 12:05am.
‘Mom is incredible! Proving her strength repeatedly through the relatively lengthy delivery at home. We are so blessed.’
Katherine, 39, previously made her pregnancy announcement on her podcast, Katherine Ryan: Telling Everybody Everything.
‘You guys know I’m pregnant, I’ve been pregnant for a while and here’s how I did that. I got pregnant while breastfeeding the first time I tried and to be honest with you I don’t think it’s going to work because I’m 39 – I would have been 38 when I got pregnant.
‘And I thought ‘we’ve got to get the kids out of the way’. You never know how long you’re gonna have and I love my kids.

‘I just thought, “well let’s go for it”.’
Katherine revealed she was breastfeeding Fred at the time.
‘So one day I’m walking around and I feel, you know, damp. And I felt a little more attractive than usual,’ she explained.

She added that she felt she was ovulating that month and ‘had a sense’ and ‘didn’t try to get pregnant’, saying she was ‘shocked’ when it happened.
‘I was shocked when it worked on the first try. I didn’t think that was going to happen, because the narrative is “you’re getting older now so [it’s unlikely]”,’ she revealed.
She also admitted that she was worried about trying to get pregnant with a another baby after suffering two miscarriages in the past.
