Kane scores twice as Tottenham beat Palace 4-0
Harry Kane scored two goals in last night’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace, to see Tottenham regain confidence, after a shaky first half, and win 4-0.
Spurs’ first-half performance was poor, but Kane opened up the scoring with a close-range header from Ivan Perisic’s cross. He then drilled a low second goal into the bottom corner – a truly superb goal.
Kane is now only two goals behind Jimmy Greaves’ club record. He made his 300th Premier League appearance last night – and not only scored two goals but also played a role in the other two goals.
Kane found Son Heung-min, who picked out Matt Doherty to score. Kane them set Son away with a logn ball forward, and Son smashed a goal home (via a deflection) to end his run of not scoring.
It was a satisfying win after the poor first half which appeared Palace could easily take the win.
If Palace had captalisd on one of their chances they had before the break, it could have been a very different second half.
Palace, who now drop into 12th place in the Premier League, actually had moe chances in the second half than the first.
Tottenham Hotspurs are now in 5th place, just two points behind Manchester United. Tottenham’s next Premier League match is next Sunday – they will face Arsenal, who sit at the top of the league.
