Kamala Harris urges more aid for starving Gazans
US Vice-President Kamala Harris urges Israel to increase aid to Gaza, where people are starving.
She calls for an immediate ceasefire lasting at least six weeks to release Israeli hostages.
Israel didn’t attend Egypt’s truce talks, citing Hamas’s failure to provide a list of surviving hostages.
Hamas says it’s impossible to identify survivors due to Israeli airstrikes.
Hamas representatives, along with US and Qatar mediators, are in Cairo for negotiations.
Pressure for a ceasefire increased after Israeli troops killed at least 112 people outside Gaza City during an aid convoy rush.
Speaking at an event in Alabama on Sunday, Harris said: “What we are seeing every day in Gaza is devastating. We have seen reports of families eating leaves or animal feed, women giving birth to malnourished babies with little or no medical care, and children dying from malnutrition and dehydration.
“As I have said many times, too many innocent Palestinians have been killed.”
