An 18-year-old in Idaho has been arrested by the FBI for planning a violent attack on churches in Coeur d’Alene on behalf of ISIS. Alexander Mercurio is facing federal charges for attempting to provide support to the terrorist organization. The FBI uncovered his plan to incapacitate his father, steal his firearms, and carry out a mass casualty attack on Sunday, April 7. FBI Director Christopher Wray called it a “truly horrific plan” that was thankfully thwarted by law enforcement. Mercurio faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
