Just Stop Oil: 16 protesters arrested outside Rishi Sunak’s London home
On Wednesday, a Just Stop Oil protest was staged outside the Prime Minister’s west London home.
Sixteen people have been arrested.
Just Stop Oil said about 18 people gathered at the Kensington property holding placards and “made themselves heard by beating pots and pans.”
It’s not known if the PM or his family were inside at the time and No 10 have declined to comment.
The Met Police said those arrested were taken to a number of police stations and remain in custody.
A statement issued by Just Stop Oil called the protest a “wide awake disruption”, with some of its placards reading “no rest for the wicked”.
The group highlighted its opposition to the PM’s decision in July to grant 100 new North Sea oil and gas licences.
