Josie Gibson may have recently sparked speculation she’s in a relationship, but she’s now ruled out dating for the moment so she can spend as much time as possible with her son.
Last month the former Big Brother winner was filming a project in Paris when she posted a series of photos alongside ITV cameraman Sam Morter.
One particular snap showing Josie, 37, holding hands with her colleague led many to believe she was hard-launching her new relationship, but soon after she had to backtrack and said ‘things had got out of hand’.
When appearing on Loose Women on Friday, Josie mentioned how the joke didn’t seem to land as she intended, and then dating was far from her mind at the moment.
‘I thought everybody would get the joke, but you shouldn’t joke on social media because some people don’t get it,’ she said.
‘I was with our camera man Sam and we spent so much time together…I love him and I’m like a proud aunty, he’s a good camera man but I am not his girlfriend and I am still single.’
She added: ‘I couldn’t pull a cracker.’
Asked if she was dating anyone else, Josie clarified the only man in her life at the moment was her four-year-old son Reggie.
‘Where would I fit him [a boyfriend] in because I’m either at work or I’m looking after my little boy, and the thing is I am only doing this [being a mum] once, so if I date somebody that is time I take away from my little boy,’ she explained.
‘I want to spend as much time with him as humanly possible.’

She added: ‘When I’m in a relationship I am a bit selfish and want them to give me their all and if I can’t give that back, it would be unfair on them as well.’
While Josie said ‘the time will come’ to start dating again, she wanted Reggie to be a little bit older.
‘Like 18 or something,’ she laughed.
In 2020 Josie split from Reggie’s dad Terry, whom she had been friends with for around 20 years prior.

While the TV personality previously said she was ‘devastated’ that her perfect family unit didn’t work out, she also spoke about how she loved being a mum and would have loved a whole football team’s worth of kids if she had started earlier.
She explained: ‘I would have had 10! I really love being a mum, it’s just amazing.’
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
