Jorginho has said that he is still ‘very happy’ at Chelsea amid much speculation surrounding his future.
The midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and with a new manager and new owner at Stamford Bridge, it has been rumoured that Jorginho’s time in England may be up.
Alongside teammate N’Golo Kante, whose contract also expires next summer, Jorginho has been linked with a move to Barcelona who have made a habit of signing free agents in recent years.
Recent reports have suggested that the 30-year-old is keen to stay at Chelsea but has rejected a new deal as he wants a 25% increase on his current salary which is said to be worth £110,000-a-week.
And it does seem that there is some truth behind his desire to remain in west London given what the Italian international told the 5th Stand recently.
‘I’m very happy at the moment, we’re all very focused on what we need to do,’ Jorginho said.

‘I’m enjoying life here. I’m enjoying working with everyone and I think everybody says the same thing. It’s enjoyable to be at Chelsea.’
Signed from Napoli in 2018 for £51million, Jorginho has enjoyed much success under several different managers at Chelsea, including winning the Champions League, Europa League and Club World Cup.
In 2021, he also won the Euros with his country and finished third in the Ballon d’Or.
This season he has continued to be a big player for the Blues, featuring in all but one game so far, namely the 4-1 loss at Brighton, scoring three goals – all from the penalty spot – in the process and he is now the club’s vice-captain.
