Visitor logs were not maintained at President Joe Biden’s home where a third batch of classified documents were found and are being investigated.
Both the White House and Secret Service have stated that visitor logs were not kept at Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, where two clusters of classified records have been discovered over the past week.
‘Like every President across decades of modern history, his personal residence is personal,’ stated the White House counsel’s office spokesman Ian Sams on Monday.
‘But upon taking office, President Biden restored the norm and tradition of keeping White House visitors logs, including publishing them regularly, after the previous administration ended them.’

The White House counsel’s office spoke a day after House Republicans called for the logs as they and the Justice Department probe Biden’s handling of classified material from his vice presidency.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer in a letter to White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain wrote: ‘Given the serious national security implications, the White House must provide the Wilmington residence’s visitor log.’
Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi on Monday conveyed a message similar to that from the White House, and said the agency will cooperate with requests from Congress for information.
‘We don’t independently maintain our own visitor logs because it’s a private residence,’ he said.

The Secret Service conducts background checks for people who visit the Bidens at their homes in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, but retains them for a limited time period, added Guglielmi.
On Saturday, the White House acknowledged that more classified papers were uncovered from Biden’s home than was previously reported. The third batch, consisting of six pages, were found in a room next to Biden’s Wilmington garage.
It comes after last Monday’s reveal of 10 classified documents found at Biden’s office at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement. On Wednesday, Biden’s personal lawyers uncovered a second batch of classified material in the garage of his Wilmington home.
On Thursday, US Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel to investigate how the classified documents ended up in Biden’s home and former office at the think tank. The special counsel, Robert Hur, is a former federal prosecutor who was appointed by ex-President Donald Trump to serve as chief federal law enforcement officer in Maryland.

Trump – who is under investigation by the Justice Department on classified records he took to his Mar-a-Lago home – ridiculed the latest development in the Biden probe.
‘The White House just announced that there are no LOGS or information of any kind on visitors to the Wilmington house and flimsy, unlocked, and unsecured, but now very famous, garage. Maybe they are smarter than we think!’ wrote Trump on his Truth Social platform on Monday.
‘This is one of seemingly many places where HIGHLY CLASSIFIED documents are stored (in a big pile on the damp floor).’
