Jimmy Carr joked that King Charles fit right in on EastEnders (Picture: Getty Images Europe)
Jimmy Carr made a brutal dig at King Charles III as he recalled the royal appearing on EastEnders.
The senior royal, 74, became King this year following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September at the age of 96.
As well as becoming the head of the monarchy, Charles was busy appearing on long-running soap EastEnders, along with wife, Queen Consort Camilla, 75.
The couple appeared on the series in June to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, where they played themselves dropping by at a street party being thrown by the residents.
And while they may have seemed out of place on the super-dramatic show, in Jimmy’s eyes they fit right in.
Hosting Channel 4’s Big Fat Quiz of the Year on Monday, Carr reflected on the royal couple’s cameos on the show.

And, addressing the audience, he joked Charles is ‘a love rat whose wife died in mysterious circumstances’ which was totally in place with EastEnders plotlines.
The comedian was of course referring to the affair between Charles and Camilla while the now-King was married to Princess Diana, who was later killed in a car accident in Paris.
Charles and Camilla had filmed the scenes back in March, months before the Jubilee itself, during which they chatted with actors Rose Ayling-Ellis, Letitia Dean, and Danny Dyer.

During the episode, the pair met the Walford residents during the street party, with Camilla was brought to a tree planted in memory of domestic abuse victims.
Following the emotional moment at Chantelle’s tree, Karen and Bernie joined their fellow Walford residents to raise a toast.
They then watched Charles and Camilla cut a specially made cake for the Jubilee.
