Jamie Carragher accused Tottenham of ‘bottling’ it against Manchester City after Antonio Conte’s side threw away a two-goal lead.
Goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Emerson Royal gave Spurs a two-goal lead at half-time at the Etihad.
However, they were back on level terms just seven minutes into the second half after City scored twice in two minutes through Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.
Riyad Mahrez scored just after the hour-mark to put City ahead and added a fourth later on to seal the victory.
Tottenham’s tendency to be on the brink of success but somehow conspire to throw it away is known as being ‘Spursy’ by the club’s rivals.

‘Spurs bottled it. You go through every single goal there…the Perisic one, if you’re not going to get there and get the ball, you get the man,’ said Carragher.
‘As much as we’ve lauded Manchester City, you can go through every one of those goals and every one of those goals ends up with a Spurs player missing a challenge.
‘If I’m centre-back and got someone flying out, there’s only two things that can happen, you tackle him or foul him, you don’t make no contact with anything.
‘Conte’s a defensive manager. He can never rely on his back three, back five or goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet.
‘His goalkeeper and defenders are nowhere near good enough for a Conte team to be successful.’
