The final ever episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden will air in April with a primetime special that will reunite the host with Tom Cruise.
After announcing last year that he would be stepping away from the show, which he has presented since 2015, plans for his finale have now been confirmed.
On Thursday, April 27 at 12.37am ET/PT, CBS will broadcast the final hour of the series, as well as air a primetime special earlier in the evening, at 10pm.
With Tom Cruise on board, the pair will participate in one final sketch together, but it’s going to be a departure from their usual antics.
While Tom, 60, has previously appeared on the show and hilariously put James, 44, through some stomach-turning stunts like piloting fighter jets and skydiving, this time things will be a lot more low key.
Instead of taking to the sky, they will be hitting the stage for an epic musical performance during The Lion King at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood.

CBS, which broadcasts the show in the United States, said additional details for the special would be announced over the next few weeks, as well as the guests who would be appearing across the final two months of the program.
The last time Tom appeared on the show was in May 2022, a few weeks after James announced he was leaving.
Not missing his chance, Tom poked fun at James and joked that he had been fired, expressing mock sympathy and offered to help him out with money if needed.
The fourth iteration of The Late Late Show, the programme began in 1995 and has previously been hosted by Tom Snyder, Craig Kilborn and Craig Ferguson.
However, James’ exit marks the end for the long-running talk show, which looks set to be replaced with a reboot of comedy game show @midnight.

CBS President and CEO George Cheeks told Deadline last year that the network was looking to experiment and freshen up the format when The Gavin and Stacey star leaves.
Once James signs off for the final time, it will leave NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers as the only talk show in that timeslot.

Previously speaking about his decision to quit the show, James said that he wanted to spend time with his family and put roots down in London.
He told Drew Barrymore on her talk show it had not been ‘easy in any way’ to walk away but he ‘never ever considered it to be the final destination’.
The Late Late Show with James Corden airs on CBS in the US.
