Israel killed aid workers after mistaking volunteer carrying a bag for gunman
Israel has admitted it made a ‘grave mistake’ after killing seven humanitarian aid workers in a drone strike on Monday.
Britons James Henderson, James Kirby and John Chapman were among the World Central Kitchen (WCK) volunteers killed by Israel while trying to deliver food to Palestinians in a clearly marked charity vehicle.
Following an investigation, Israel says its drone operators mistook an aid worker carrying a bag for a gunman, and subsequently targeted one of the WCK vehicles with a missile.
The inquiry was led by Yoav Har-Even, who today confirmed two IDF officers have been dismissed over the strike.
