It’s hard to complain when you have a bank holiday weekend and the hottest days of the year so far.
Even for Brits who love nothing more than a grumble. But we have had a miserable May until recently.
While we might have used our last of three May bank holidays up this weekend, will we still have reason to keep a sunny disposition in terms of the weather?
Is the weather going to stay warm?
Is it going to stay hot in the UK?
For once, Brits got warm weather on a bank holiday. Practically unheard of – since we’re more used to going ahead with barbecues in the pouring rain.
But initial forecasts expected the Sunday to hit highs of 24C.
Grahame Madge, a forecaster at the Met Office, said: ‘The conditions are set fair for much of the UK up to and including the bank holiday weekend.
‘Day by day the extent of cloud may vary, which will have an effect on local temperature, but overall we can expect a very pleasant period ahead.
‘Temperatures will likely be in the range of high teens and low twenties Celsius for many parts.’
And those temperatures are set to remain pretty consistent for the next week or so.
According to the Met Office’s forecasts, temperatures for the capital will range between 16 and 20 all week (leading up to Saturday, June 3).
Indeed, Thursday, June 1 will see temperatures high across the UK.
Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow, London and Plymouth are all forecast to hit highs of 20C.
As for the longer forecast, the outlook is still mostly positive.
The Met predicts, ‘In general, the temperatures are likely to be above average; eastern coastal areas may feel slightly cooler, however, in the presence of onshore winds.’
