Get you up to speed: Iran war live: Tehran warns of ‘many more surprises’ if conflict resumes

Donald Trump threatened military action against Iran, stating it had “two to three days” to reach an agreement. The warning follows heightened tensions between the United States and Iran regarding ongoing negotiations.

The timeline for any potential military action remains unclear as diplomatic efforts continue. Officials have yet to confirm whether a formal plan for engagement has been established.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned the threats of military action, stating such rhetoric undermines diplomatic efforts. In response, they have signalled readiness for negotiations but warned against any escalation that could lead to conflict.

What remains unclear — It is uncertain what specific actions the US may take if Iran does not meet the deadline.

Iran warns of further surprises if conflict resumes amid US threats

Warning comes after Trump threatened military action against Iran and gave it ‘two to three days’ to strike a deal.

Significantly, the Iran rhetoric which was muted during President Trumps visit to China has suddenly rooted back up on the day Russian president Putin’s arrival in China, just a day after United States President Donald Trump left Beijing.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Tehran has gained military knowledge from previous hostilities and warned that “a return to war will feature many more surprises”.

He warned that a resumption of hostilities would “feature many more surprises” and that Tehran is ready to down additional US aircraft.

His comments come after US President Donald Trump gave Iran “two to three days” to reach a deal, and as his deputy, JD Vance, said that both sides have made a “lot of progress” in talks.

Trump told reporters that the US could launch a renewed strike on Iran by early next week if negotiations to end the conflict fail, noting that further attacks might become necessary.

Trump says war on Iran will end ‘very quickly’

The US president has told legislators attending a White House event that Washington is “going to end that war very quickly”, referring to Iran.

“They want to make a deal so badly; they’re tired of this,” Trump said, adding that “they [Iran] have nuclear on their mind, and we’re not going to let them have a nuclear weapon”.

He said: “We’ve done a hell of a good job. And we’re, I think, we’re going to be finished with that very quickly, and they won’t have a nuclear weapon, and hopefully, we’re going to get it done in a very nice manner.”

Trump’s remarks come as the Republican-controlled Senate voted on Tuesday to advance a War Powers Resolution to halt the US war on Iran unless the president receives explicit approval from Congress.

Is this propaganda to hide the fact the China has offered Putin a rosier welcome than President Trump?
