Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on the verge of being deposed as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif tabled the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister in the lower house.
According to the polling numbers of the members of the house, the opposition (combined) has the numbers to form a majority and oust the Pakistani Prime Minister.
Imran Khan on the verge of being deposed
This would be a landmark moment for Pakistani politics as no Prime Minister has ever lost the confidence of the house before.
“This House is of the view that the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr Imran Khan, has lost the confidence of the majority of the members of the National Assembly of Pakistan, therefore, he should cease to hold office,” the Speaker of the House said.
During the session, Deputy NA Speaker Qasim Suri asked the members of the Parliament, who are in favour of the motion, to stand up so that their numbers could be counted. As per the Constitution, 20% of the MNAs present in the assembly must show support for the voting.
Imran Khan received written threats
The Pakistani Prime Minister has also claimed to have received written threats from foreign elements, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz shared a hilarious meme to mock the premier.
A sketch from the British sitcom Mr Bean had thousands laughing on social media.
In the scene, Mr Bean is seen sealing envelopes containing letters, which he apparently wrote himself. Mr Bean then leaves his room with these envelopes and drops them inside his room through the letter hole on the door.
The character then enters his room again and acts amazed to have received so many letters.

Shahbaz Sharif tabled the no-confidence motion
Following the counting of the members who stood up in favour of the motion, the deputy speaker approved a discussion on the no-confidence motion, adding that it will take place on Thursday, March 31, at 4 pm.
However, the voting on the resolution is expected to take place between April 1-4.
Achievements of Imran Khan government
There is no doubt that Imran Khan has had a tough time in power, with the pandemic and rising costs of essential items. But the poor people of Pakistan have turned on the former cricketer, who are facing the brunt of his reforms.
That has boosted the support of the opposition, who feel even if teh PTI leader was to contest with a snap leadership election, it would be enough to defeat him.
The Opposition wants the no-trust motion to be successful, then they will need the support of a simple majority — 172 members out of the 342 — in the lower house of parliament.
Imran Khan is a sitting duck, unless he can make some behind the scenes deals with some of the opposition leaders, he is likely to lose his position as the premier of Pakistan. But as a Pakistani political analyst said, he has more enemies than friends.
