Much to the surprise of many, politician Matt Hancock has made it to the penultimate day of I’m A Celebrity… but has he been sneakily trying to garner more votes?
The former secretary was left in disbelief after making the final four along with Mike Tindall, Jill Scott, and Owen Warner after the reality series ventured back Down Under for the first time in two years.
But, his fellow campmates have called Hancock out on trying to subtly hint to viewers at home to pick up the phone and back him – in true politician style.
In the Bush Telegraph, former rugby pro Mike said he’d noticed something around camp.
‘Matt’s making sure his t-shirt and his phone numbers are on display at all times. Matt clearly wants to win,’ he said.
Back in camp, Mike turned Hancock’s jumper over so his voting details weren’t visible – two can play at that game!

‘I’m taking great pleasure in turning it around every time he leaves camp,’ he joked with cameras.
Ahead of Seann Walsh’s elimination on Friday, Mike said to the comic: ‘Have you noticed someone’s been advertising themselves? Matt’s been putting all his stuff with “Matt” and the phone number pointing at cameras.’

Mike added in the Bush Telegraph: ‘Once a politician, always a politician. Always polling for votes.’
However, not everyone has handled Hancock’s presence in camp with such ease.
Radio DJ Chris Moyles admitted he struggled living with the MP, revealing he actually walked out of the camp at one point.

Speaking after his exit, Chris reflected on Hancock’s stint Down Under, who had previously explained he had hoped for ‘forgiveness’ from the public during the course of I’m A Celeb.
Chatting with colleagues on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X on Friday, he explained: ‘I was venting quite a bit at first when he came in, because, well, I’ll just say it: He should be at work because he’s an MP.

‘He’s paid to look after people and their interests and hopefully make their lives better, and I don’t know how he does that by going on the jungle show.
‘There was a moment when we got into a conversation about him and it got quite tense – which I accidentally started by going, “So when’s your book out?” and he went “Next month”. I didn’t know he had a book.’

The former Radio 1 presenter said he ‘got annoyed’ with Hancock because it seemed unfair he was being offered a redemption arc, and he found Hancock’s please for forgiveness ‘fake’.
‘And then I had to separate Matt Hancock from Matt who was in camp, who was doing his best at trials to try and win us food.’
The final of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2022 airs tomorrow on ITV.
