George took to the Bush Telegraph to complain (Picture: ITV)
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here viewers were left stunned after seeing Boy George seemingly undergo a bit of a personality transplant and stick up for Matt Hancock.
Yep, you read that right.
The celebs were in the midst of cooking dinner on Sunday night’s episode, when Hancock, who had been appointed camp chef, and Sue Cleaver got into a disagreement about whether or not the potatoes they had for dinner should be parboiled.
Hancock said: ‘There’s loads of potatoes. I think we should parboil them, then deep fry them so they’e like chips, they’re little new potatoes.’
Sue disagreed, saying: ‘I don’t think you need to parboil them, i think you just need to deep fry them.’
George, who definitely hasn’t seen eye to eye with the MP, then came to Hancock’s defence in the Bush Telegraph, saying: ‘Matt was like, “Im gonna parboil them,” and then Sue comes in and says, “No!” Well you’re not cooking, let him do it. If you’ve given him the job as a cook, let him cook.’
He went on to tell Hancock: ‘You should have parboiled the potatoes. You should have said something. That’s what you do with potatoes.’
He fumed in the Bush Telegraph: ‘Basically certain people are dictating what happens, and people just take it because they wanna be nice.’
Viewers were baffled by the exchange, with one writing: ‘Slightly confused Boy George defending Matt….’
‘Can’t believe I’ve just seen boy George sticking up for Matt Hancock,’ another said.
One more added: ‘Wait a minute, did I seriously just see Boy George DEFEND Matt?!’

Elsewhere during the episode, the celebrities received their letters from home after winning a tricky task that saw them balancing blocks on a wobbly plank.
Viewers were left cringing after Hancock received his from girlfriend Gina Coladangelo, which read: ‘Dear Matt, wow watching you in the jungle has been quite the experience. We are particularly impressed that you conquered your fear of snakes. We are less sure about the dancing. Although we saw that you almost got the electric slide thanks to Scarlette. Gina xxxxx’.

Meanwhile, Mike Tindall received a letter from his wife, Zara Phillips, and Seann Walsh received a note from his pregnant girlfriend, Grace Adderley.
Scarlette Douglas also became the second celebrity to leave the jungle after being eliminated in a public vote.
Scarlette became incredibly tearful as she said her goodbyes and hugged her fellow celebs, with Babatunde Aleshe – who was also in the bottom two – particularly shocked.
In her exit interview, Scarlette spoke about being a ‘team player’ and how she loved to ‘keep busy’ in camp.
When Ant told her the camp are going to miss her because she’s been such a ‘positive force’, Scarlette grew tearful once again, as she said she already misses everyone.
But, one thing she won’t miss is the massive ‘pressure’ she felt when appointed as camp chef.
Scarlette also admitted she has ‘surprised’ herself with how much she took to jungle life and got to grips with the trials, despite having high anxiety at the start.
On who she’s now rooting for to take the crown, Scarlette said she had a ‘brotherly sisterly’ relationship with comedian Babatunde, so she’s hoping he emerges King of the Jungle.
I’m A Celebrity continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV.
