I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! viewers rejoiced after Ant and Dec revealed that Matt Hancock won’t be participating in the next bushtucker trial.
The politician has endured five gruesome challenges since he arrived in the jungle, but it seems like the public have eased up on Hancock as Boy George, Chris Moyles and Babatunde Aleshe will be facing Angel of Agony.
To say Hancock was thrilled was an understatement, as he smiled from ear to ear after the Geordi duo uttered the three magic words: ‘It’s not you.’
And viewers at home took to Twitter to express their joy, after several celebrities branded recent episodes as the ‘Matt Hancock show.’
‘Finally, everyone has agreed that Matt’s done his time,’ one person tweeted.
‘It is now up to the public to vote for the other celebs on the coming trials. Matte proved and now it’s time for others to the the same. Message for next week: Don’t make Matt do another week of trials.’
‘Finally!! We’ve got a change of campmates doing trials. And it couldn’t be a better three. Glad Matt is getting a rest and looking forward to tomorrow’s show,’ another added.
During Monday’s edition, the politician took on his sixth consecutive trial, facing snakes and critters in an underground pit.
Speaking to hosts Ant and Dec afterwards, he revealed the thought of his girlfriend, Gina Coladangelo, spurred him on.
‘I thought of my children, I thought of Gina, I thought of everybody I loved. I just tried to be calm.’

Hancock was referring to his former political aide, with whom he broke social distancing restrictions last year, ultimately leading to his resignation from his role as health secretary.
Leaked CCTV pictures published in The Sun in June 2021 showed Hancock kissing Coladangelo, 45, in his departmental office while he was married to wife Martha Millar, with whom he has three children.
