I’m A Celebrity star Matt Hancock had the ‘cheek’ to ask for leftovers at dinner despite enjoying a feast of a barbecue earlier in the day – and Owen Warner was having none of it.
On Thursday’s episode, the campmates were treated to a meal of eels after A Place In The Sun presenter Scarlette Douglas, comedian Babatúndé Aléshé and Hollyoaks star Owen won a full house of eight stars for camp during the Bushtucker Trial.
That same day, former health secretary Hancock, Lioness Jill Scott and Corrie star Sue Cleaver were treated to a luxurious meal on the beach that the rest of the contestants were forced to miss out on.
After dinner, the celebrities were all sitting around their fire when Hancock – who was sitting in his camp leader’s chair – remarked: ‘I know it sounds mad, but if there’s anything left over I’ll have it.’
Owen – who’s made no secret of how hungry he is in camp – couldn’t believe the politician’s audacity.
Pointing out that Hancock had just eaten a full surf and turf, the 23-year-old exclaimed in the Bush Telegraph: ‘He’s asking for some of our food?! The cheek!’

Several viewers were similarly aghast that Hancock would even think to ask for more food considering the treat the 44-year-old had just indulged in.
‘After surf and turf bbq Matt was asking is there any leftovers from dinner, really Matt?’ one fan tweeted.
‘The CHEEK of matt asking for leftovers of food when he’s just been and had a fat BBQ,’ another wrote incredulously.
One individual said they were ‘aghast at Matt asking for food after having the luxury of the BBQ’, as another piped up to add: ‘Did Matt Hancock literally just ask for food from the others after having a beach BBQ? Wow!’
‘Matt Hancock asking for food after the bbq. The man has no shame,’ someone else wrote.
Hancock’s shameless request for more food wasn’t the only reason dinner stirred up controversy, as Charlene White was also accused by fans of breaking another rule for assisting with the meal preparations.
Given the Loose Women presenter is deputy leader of the camp, she’s not supposed to be doing any chores – but she still trying to lend a helping hand to chefs Owen and Scarlette in the kitchen.
The most recent ‘rule break’ comes after the ITV newsreader refused to sleep in the RV, despite being assigned a bed inside the vehicle with camp leader Hancock.
I’m A Celebrity returns tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
