Iconic london nightclub closes down to become ‘luxury hotel’ | UK News
An iconic London club has become the latest victim to the capital’s dwindling nightlife and has closed its doors for good.
Tiger Tiger has confirmed its closure, thanking everyone for ‘years of incredible memories’ on their website.
The club, based just off of Piccadilly Circus, is reportedly set to become a luxury hotel after operating at a loss for years.
One Reddit account, called RossKillington, claimed to be the regular Saturday DJ at the venue until it closed down.
He wrote: ‘It’s sad that another big night club has gone but it wasn’t exactly a surprise when I heard it was done.
‘Gonna miss it because we still used to get some lively crowds considering the context of London’s nightlife decline.
‘I actually played the last ever night in there a couple of Saturdays ago (though I didn’t know at the time it was the last one).
‘Last song I played was Impala by Gheist so there’s a bit of trivia!’

The club was known for not hosting the most high-brow of evenings, and was even fined £120,000 for serving caustic soda with tequila shots rather than salt.
Four women suffered burns to their mouths after taking the cleaning substance, the BBC reports.
The venue in central London was the chain’s flagship branch and opened in 1998.
It covered four floors, had one restaurant, four large dance floors and five bars.
Others have remembered the club on social media, with one Reddit account writing: ‘Think I’ll miss the delicate bouquet of Rohypnol, Syphilis and Lnyx wafting through the air most of all!’
