Strictly Come Dancing bosses have reportedly set their sights on a legendary 80s performer – and they really hope he says yes!
According to reports, Shakin’ Stevens – real name Michael Barratt – could be making his dancefloor debut in the upcoming series.
The 75-year-old musician known affectionately as Shaky grew up the youngest of 13 children and always had his sights set on music, going on to become a record-breaking performer.
A source shared: ‘Bosses have spent years trying to get national Shakey on the show and are hopeful that he’ll finally say yes.’
‘Shakey is considered a national treasure thanks to that big Christmas hit and is certain to be popular with viewers.’
Daily Star also claimed that show bosses are hoping the entertainer will be the oldest celeb contestant that ‘surprises everyone.’

Shakin’s rumoured Strictly arrival comes after it was claimed that the show was eager to sign Paralympian basketball player Ade Adepitan – making him the first wheelchair user to feature on the programme.
This comes after Rose Ayling-Ellis made history as the show’s first ever deaf contestant, winning the 2021 series with Giovanni Pernice, while paralympian Ellie Simmonds scored great success during her stint on the show last season with Nikita Kuzmin.
Now show bosses are turning their attention to the 50-year-old TV personality.
