Metro – ‘I lied but it’s not a crime’

The Metro leads on comments made by Baroness Michelle Mone where she admitted she benefitted from a controversial £200m contract to supply PPE during the COVID pandemic.

Baroness Mone told the BBC she stands to benefit from tens of millions of pounds generated through the sale of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the UK government during the pandemic by a company led by her husband, Doug Barrowman. The couple apologised for denying their role in the deal for more than three years, but said it was “not a crime” to lie to the press.
