Hurricane Roslyn batters Mexico’s Pacific coast
A powerful hurricane made landfalls in western Mexico on Sunday, causing heavy rains, flash flooding and landslides.
The category 3 hurricane, named Roslyn, made landfall in Nayarit state and had maximum winds of 120mph.
It’s since been downgraded to a tropical cyclone and is expected to dissipate.
But the damage has already been done, with roads flooded and homes wrecked.
Tecuala is the worst affected area, further south along the coast in Sayulita, people were seen wading through mud to clear the streets.
Flash flooding and power outages hit the town of Puerto Vallarta in neighbouring Jalisco state – where there was only minor damage caused.
