Human bones found on popular UK beach
Bones found on a popular beach in the north east have been confirmed to be human remains.
Remains were discovered on Seaburn beach near Queen’s Parade in Sunderland on Good Friday, the start of the Easter long weekend.
The previous month, on February 13, more suspected human remains were found on Marine Walk, near Roker Beach.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police told ITV: ‘We have received reports of bones or suspected body parts being found at Seaburn and Roker beaches in Sunderland over recent weeks.
‘We have now confirmed that some of these are human and we are currently treating the discoveries as unexplained.’
