Ryan Reynolds is enduring another dig at his expense thanks to pal Hugh Jackman (Picture: FilmMagic)
Manchester United could soon be having a new celebrity owner, if Hugh Jackman’s dig at Ryan Reynolds is to be believed.
The Wolverine star, 54, and Deadpool actor, 46, have been locked in a playful feud for over a decade, and will never miss the opportunity to mock each other.
And in a new interview, Hugh took a sarcastic swipe at Ryan co-owning Welsh football team Wrexham with pal Rob McElhenney, and declared he would buy a much more famous team.
‘Anyone can buy a Wrexham or Bournemouth,’ he scoffed.
‘That’s what I’ll do, I’ll buy a Liverpool or Man U. Man U is up for sale right? ‘
He added that he was recently with US actor pal Michael B Jordan, who has become a shareholder in Bournemouth football club, and said: ‘Everyone’s buying football teams.’

Hugh also suggested he would leave acting for good and start a new career as a football player – just as long as he gets to play against Wrexham.
‘“I am now leaving acting and am going to become a soccer player for any team that will have me, as long as I play Wrexham,’ he joked.
‘I just need ten minutes, I don’t want the embarrassing 30 seconds run on, I need ten minutes.’
It comes after Hugh playfully begged the Academy not to nominate a song from Ryan’s movie Spirited for the best original song, with Ryan hitting back by killing them with kindness as he declared Hugh should absolutely be nominated for his performance in film The Son.

The pair are now preparing to star together in upcoming film Deadpool 3, slated for release in September 2024.
And, in doing everything to bulk up for the role, Hugh revealed he’s split more than one pair of pants.
‘Apologies to the entire cast of The Music Man, and in particular my dresser and my wife — all the protein shakes are starting to kick in fast, he joked.

He revealed that his on-stage costumes for the musical have already had to be let out twice to account for his changing body, and ‘the other night, I could hear the Velcro go creaking and actually popped open.’
‘I’ve split two pairs of pants!’
