It’s New Year’s Eve tonight, which means 2023 is just around the corner.
The New Year can be full of promise and potential, offering a chance to dream about what could happen over the next 365 days and what positive things may come your way.
At the very least, you can say goodbye to 2022 – which thanks to the cost of living crisis has been a challenging year for many.
If you want to see in 2023 right, you might be tempted to find a fireworks display to enjoy.
But if you don’t live near one, you can catch London’s iconic fireworks live on TV as they happen.

Fancy seeing London’s dazzling fireworks display to ring in the New Year?
Tune in to BBC One tonight (December 31) at midnight exactly – or watch via BBC iPlayer.
The New Year’s Eve programming kicks off a little earlier at 11.30pm – as the UK’s Eurovision star Sam Ryder performs a range of hits in Sam Ryder Rocks New Year’s Eve.
But if you want to, you can tune in a couple minutes’ before midnight to witness the countdown to 2023 and hear Big Ben chime, before the fireworks begin.
The display takes place on London’s South Bank, near the London Eye, and usually lasts around 10 to 15 minutes.

Once completed, BBC One will resume broadcasting Sam Ryder Rocks New Year’s Eve, followed by The Big Eurovision Party at 12.45am – a concert featuring acts including 2022 winners Kalush Orchestra.
If you’re based in the capital and want to catch a glimpse in person, there are a number of bars and restaurants with excellent views.
Londoners can also see in 2023 by dancing alongside dinosaurs in a museum, hitting a nightclub, or enjoying a cruise along the Thames – with this round-up of top New Year’s Eve activities.
