Get creative in the bedroom (Picture: Getty)
It’s Halloween, and at a time of dress-up and make believe, it only makes sense to bring that spooky kink to the bedroom.
At the very least, it’s a good excuse to try something new.
Sex and relationship expert for sexual wellness brand LELO, Kate Moyle, says ‘curiosity’ is important when it comes to sexual experiences.
It helps you ‘to connect, explore and enjoy’, she says.
‘Trying new things and exploring new positions is a great way of breaking away from routine, and builds up anticipation which is the most natural aphrodisiac we have and encourages both arousal and desire.’
To inspire that sense of curiosity, here are three positions to try for Halloween.

A balancing act (Picture: LELO)
This is one that requires some steadiness, meaning it’s probably not the best move to attempt you’re having some Halloween cocktails tonight.
But, the rewards can be great if you have fun with it.
Kate says: ‘This position is great for mixing up with other positions and changing the angle and sensation of sex.
‘As one partner is holding one leg up off the floor (hence the name) it’s a trickier position to maintain throughout an entire sexual experience.
‘It’s good to know that because if it starts to become uncomfortable that’s going to be a distraction, taking your attention off the fun, so being realistic about that will help you to enjoy yourselves more.
‘This also makes it a fun position for a session of moving yourselves around the room or the house.’
It also creates more intimacy, as it allows partners to be face to face.
For extra support, try using a wall.
‘The other partner then stands keeping one leg on the floor, and raising the other to wherever feels comfortable,’ suggests Kate. ‘The leaning partner can then support them with their hands, helping their partner to change the angle and depth of penetration.’
If height difference is a problem, use a stool to rest the lifted leg on.
Witch’s cat
It’s all about the motion (Picture: LELO)
The CAT (Coital Alignment Technique) is a position that will combine both clitoral stimulation and vaginal penetration.
It uses a rocking or grinding motion, rather than the usual missionary thrusting movement.
‘Think of it like a modification to the missionary sex position where the couple’s hips are aligned with and on top of each other,’ Kate says.
‘The female partner should lay flat on their back with their legs slightly apart, and the male partner, or partner wearing a strap-on should slide themselves into position between the others legs.
‘Using their arms, the top partner should lift themselves slightly, pushing your bodies closer together and creating more friction on the clitoris and vulva.
‘This position should be more of a rocking or grinding motion rather than thrusting to maintain the pressure and friction.’
In terms of pace, slower usually wins the race here.
‘Work together and find the best pace,’ notes Kate. ‘If it’s helpful, one person can change the angle of their pelvis by lying on a pillow or cushion to lift their hips closer towards their partner.’
The scream

This one could get loud.
‘With the scream, the penetrating partner lies on their back, with the other partner sitting astride them on top,’ says Kat.
‘The person on top leans back, using the other’s thighs for support.
‘This change of penetrative angle can make a great position for simultaneous clitoral and G-spot stimulation, and the clitoris can be easily stimulated manually or with a simple handheld vibrator.’
As it’s a great position for this double stimulation, Kate says there’s ‘potential opportunity for a blended orgasm’, coming from multiple stimulus points.
‘An added bonus is the bottom partner gets an amazing view looking up at the other really enjoying themselves which adds to the turn on.’
