Matt Hancock is appearing in the current series of I’m a Celebrity, and people have had opinions on it.
While he’s been criticised by celebrities and viewers online, his appearance also boosted ratings for the show.
He has explained his motives for doing the show, previously telling The Sun: ‘Like you, politicians are human, with hopes and fears, and normal emotions just like everyone else. Where better to show the human side of those who make these decisions than with the most watched programme on TV?’
But a hefty paycheque could also have something to do with it – especially since he’s been suspended from the Conservative Party.
On that basis, how does he make his money?
What is Matt Hancock’s net worth?
In 2020, The Sun reports Matt Hancock’s net worth was estimated at around £705,000-£2.1m.
The publication also suggests his net worth as of 2022 could be around £5 million.

How does Matt Hancock make his money?
Matt is still a working MP, sitting as an independent after having the Tory whip removed.
He will continue to represent his constituents in West Suffolk, whom he has served since 2010, as an independent after his stint in the jungle.
A statement released by Mr Hancock’s Parliamentary office said: ‘Matt has an excellent team working with him in West Suffolk, but producers have agreed that he can communicate with them if there’s an urgent constituency matter.’

Matt’s net worth will also have come from his work before becoming an MP.
He was first an economist, then became the economic advisor at the Bank of England, where he specialised in the housing market.
Hancock entered the field of politics in 2005 as Chief of Staff to Shadow Chancellor George Osborne.
