How many election deniers have been elected?
According to the BBC – at least 70 election deniers have so far won Congressional or state-wide seats and the number is likely to rise significantly.
The BBC found 179 candidates for top seats have fully and publicly denied the 2020 presidential election results.
Many of them are heavily favoured in their districts or states even if their races haven’t yet been officially called.
House of Representative’s winners included Marjorie Taylor Greene in Georgia and Jim Jordan in Ohio.
Though some have been defeated, there will be a significant number of people in Congress and in top positions who do not believe Joe Biden won the 2020 election.
Some Republican deniers are already questioning the legitimacy of Tuesday’s 2022 midterm elections.
