The Independent – How did they let this monster join the Met? 

The front page of the Independent leads on the official report into police failings over Wayne Couzens – the serving police officer who kidnapped, raped and murdered Sarah Everard. 

Sarah Everard’s devastated family believe she died because Couzens was a serving officer, adding: ‘She would never have got into a stranger’s car.’

His predatory sexual behaviour started 20 years before he raped and murdered Sarah Everard and he should never have been allowed to join the police, a damning inquiry has found.
