The Metro says The government has set out how emergency discounts on energy bills will be paid out to families this winter.
Ministers previously announced bill-payers will receive a £400 deduction on gas and electricity to cushion the blow of soaring costs.
There is widespread anxiety about how the toll of spiraling heating prices will hit people this winter, with the cap set to rise to around £3,500 by October.
Now it has been confirmed the money will be paid out in installments, with most receiving the benefit without having to take any further action.
