Rayne has gone way too far (Picture: Lime Pictures)
Rayne Royce (Jemma Donovan) descended to yet another low in Hollyoaks, allowing boyfriend Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner) to believe that she’d self-harmed.
The development, which took place during the final moments of Thursday’s (July 27) edition of the Channel 4 soap, came shortly after the influencer set Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) up.
Prince, as viewers know, was determined to expose Rayne, knowing that she’s up to no good. Rayne worried that he would succeed in catching her out and therefore devised a plan to get him out of Romeo’s life once and for all.
After spiking him at The Love Boat, she carried a disoriented and woozy Prince home, lying him on Romeo’s bed and, making it look like she’d been crying, told her boyfriend that Prince had tried to sexually assault her.
Prince was horrified to hear such claims, professing his innocence. Due to the spiking, however, he had no memory of the previous night and therefore was unable to offer up an explanation on what really happened.
Lacey Lloyd (Annabelle Davis), meanwhile, had doubts about Rayne’s version of events, with her theory that the influencer lied in order to get Prince out of her beau’s life being backed up via a series of flashbacks.

Romeo believed Rayne, however, kicking Prince out, before going for a run, unable to come to terms with what had allegedly transpired. The DJ then shared a heart-to-heart with his girlfriend, who was already exhibiting doubts about her plot.
He reflected on his tragic losses, revealing that he felt unable to protect Lily McQueen (Lauren McQueen), who tragically died four years ago after her self-harm led to a fatal sepsis infection, and Juliet (Niamh Blackshaw), who died of cancer earlier this year, but vowed to do his absolute best to protect Rayne.

Rayne subsequently went to the bathroom and, upon reaching for the towel, she accidentally injured her arm on the towel wrack. Romeo entered the room and saw the influencer clutching her wound and became concerned that she’d self-harmed.
Rayne let him believe that this was the case as he offered her a supportive embrace, with the social media sensation sinisterly smiling in the aftermath. Will Romeo see through Rayne’s mountain of lies before it’s too late?
