Juliet made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure Juliet’s happiness remained intact (Picture: Lime Pictures)
Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) made a huge and selfless sacrifice in Hollyoaks as she decided to let Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw) go, despite being head over heels in love with her.
The nurse, as viewers know, has been struggling to get over Juliet since their break-up earlier this year, and she confided in mum Leela (Kirsty Leigh Porter) that she’s still very much in love with her ex.
Juliet, meanwhile, claimed to be happier than ever with Nadira, who she initially cheated on Peri with, before pursuing a proper relationship with her.
But recent scenes have made clear that, despite her previous claims of having fallen out of love Juliet is similarly smitten with former flame Peri, and she even hinted at such a thing earlier this week.
Nadira, jealous of the connection between Peri and Juliet, burned the former with a sparkler in what appeared to be a moment of pure jealousy, later telling Jules that she might have done it deliberately.
The action, coupled with old feelings resurfacing, ultimately drove Juliet to Peri, as she admitted that – despite the efforts she went to in order to be with Nadira – the wedding planner just doesn’t make her happy in the same way she did.
The former flames got caught up in the moment and kissed against the backdrop of a fireworks display, and all was right in the world for a time.

Peri was hopeful that this would lead to a reunion, but the subsequent episode found Juliet conflicted once more, as she still harbouring feelings for Nadira and refused to sneak around and hurt her like she did with Pez previously.
So, having given it some thought, Peri did the selfless thing, protecting their kiss secret so that Nadira need never know, before admitting that she’s letting Juliet go for good.
Nadira admired Peri’s mature attitude about the whole thing, as she made it clear that she was happy to be with Juliet. Juliet, however, was evidently heartbroken over Peri’s decision to move on.
Is this really the end for the couple known as Jeri?

If this week has proven anything, it’s that the spark between the two is very much alive and well.
We wouldn’t give up hope just yet.
Will Juliet let the true love of her life walk out for good? Or will the events of the past few days encourage her to end things with Nadira and pursue true happiness with Peri?
The latter option, we beg!
