Juliet said her goodbyes in a heartbreaking video message meant for brother James to view after his wedding day (Picture: Lime Pictures)
Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw) refused to tell James (Gregory Finnegan) that she’s dying ahead of his wedding in Hollyoaks and thus deciding to record a video message for him instead.
The popular character, as viewers know, was told earlier this week by doctors that her cancer had spread and that there is nothing more that can be done for her, leaving her in shock.
Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) encouraged her to break the tragic news to her loved ones, but Juliet was adamant that she didn’t want to open up ahead of James’ wedding, wanting her sibling to have the best day imaginable.
The reality of her prognosis soon set in, however, with subsequent scenes seeing Juliet reveal all to a heartbroken Donna-Marie Quinn (Lucy-Jo Hudson), who was determined to be there for her baby girl.
Respecting Jules’ wishes, both Donna-Marie and Peri agreed to keep shtum until after James’ wedding, with Wednesday’s (May 17) first look offering of the Channel 4 soap seeing her attend both James and Ste Hay’s (Kieron Richardson) respective stag dos.
After some time at The Dog for Ste’s do, however, Juliet began to feel tired and thus sneaked out of the pub with some assistance from Donna-Marie and Peri, returning home to the Lomax household.

As she broke down in tears, she explained that she won’t be there for his future wedding anniversaries or to meet any children he and Ste will have together, confirming that there isn’t anything more that can be done for her by doctors.
James, meanwhile, remained unaware of his sister’s terminal diagnosis, as he kissed fiancé Ste, excited for what tomorrow would bring.
There is, however, some tragedy in store for the big day.
