Rayne has been harbouring another big secret (Picture: Lime Pictures)
Hollyoaks has filled in some of the blanks regarding Rayne Royce’s (Jemma Donovan) mysterious past, specifically in regards to her dead boyfriend Brent.
The social media influencer, as viewers know, will do whatever it takes to be the centre of attention, having descended to devastating lows in order to get what she wants, weaving a twisted web of lies along the way.
Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) was the first to discover that something wasn’t quite right where Rayne was concerned, after she discovered that the newcomer had lied about finding a lump.
Rayne, however, covered her tracks remarkably well with boyfriend Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner), gaslighting him into thinking she would never be capable of such a thing.
Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dywer), meanwhile, was on to Rayne, who retaliated by spiking him and claiming that he attempted to force himself on her, much to everyone’s horror.
Romeo again believed his girlfriend’s lies, with Prince subsequently kicked out of his home and, just when you thought Rayne couldn’t get any lower, she lied about self-harming, despite knowing about Lily (Lauren McQueen).

Lily (Lauren McQueen), Romeo’s first love, tragically died four years ago after her self-harm led to a fatal sepsis infection.
If you thought it wasn’t possible for Rayne to get any worse, another twist in this twisted tale on Friday (July 28) has revealed what she is truly capable of.
After further isolating Romeo from his loved ones, Rayne scrolled through a historic text conversation between she and Brent.

The messages seemingly confirm that controlling Rayne encouraged Brent, who she had presumably ghosted at this stage, to take his own life.
The influencer subsequently deleted these messages, hoping no-one would ever find out what she did. But the question is: is it only a matter of time before she’s exposed?
Hollyoaks continues Monday July 31 at 7pm on E4 or stream the next episode from midnight on All4.
