A video of Hasanabi voicing Mario in the Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer is… well, it’s a thing.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie trailers only included a few parts where you can clearly hear Chris Pratt’s not-Italian accent, leaving fans of the franchise wanting more.
Whether you hate it or not, Pratt is the new Mario, which means that you have a few months to get used to him, as the film is not hitting theatres until March 31 in the UK (a week before the US).
However, if you could have Mario voiced by any person on earth, who would you choose?
Most likely not Twitch streamer Hasanabi, but thanks to one of his fans you can now enjoy Mario saying unhinged sentences like ‘I’m the sugar daddy.’
It all started when Hasanabi said that Nintendo should have ‘unironically’ cast him as the voice actor of Mario during one of his streams.
The creator of the video, who goes by Blammo or Yep Boomer, took the streamer’s statement to heart and edited his voice into the Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer.
In the first scene, where Mario is in a face-off with Donkey Kong, you can hear Hasanabi saying: ‘Hey, how you doin’? Let’s go.’
His execution is more like Joey Tribbiani from Friends than Mario, which actually makes Pratt’s ‘Let’s-a-go’ much better in this case (Sorry Hasan!).
The streamer even shouts some Turkish swearwords while Mario is getting beat up by Donkey Kong.
In the next scene, Mario is seen talking to Princess Peach, moments before he tries to overcome a series of obstacles, just like in the games.
‘I’ve got this, no problem,’ Mario says in the original trailer.

However, Blammo’s version is slightly different, as you can hear Hasanabi exclaim ‘I’m the sugar daddy, it’s all good,’ while Mario is tipping his hat to his beloved.
The next few scenes consist of Hasanabi non-stop screaming as Mario speeds up in his cart on Rainbow Road, so make sure to turn down your volume a notch.
The fan-made trailer is then cut short, with Hasanabi throwing in a classic ‘It’s-a-me-Mario’ at the end, which admittedly didn’t sound too bad compared to his first attempt at an Italian accent.
Weirdly enough, fans of the Super Mario franchise seem to absolutely love Blammo’s video, commenting that Hasanabi should ‘pursue voice acting’ and that they would ‘watch this movie.’
One person even joked that the streamer was their ‘favourite Italian king’ on Twitter, with others praising Blammo’s editing talent.

Hasanabi doesn’t seem to have seen the fan-made video yet, but as it’s gaining more and more views he’s sure to comment on it soon.
You can watch the whole thing below and judge for yourself if Hasanabi would make a better Mario than Chris Pratt:
