*Warning: This article contains spoilers from the penultimate episode of Happy Valley.*
Happy Valley is reaching tis finale on Sunday with an extended episode, and Tommy Lee Royce has managed to connect with his son Ryan Cawood despite being phoneless and in hiding.
After Tommy (James Norton) managed to escape from custody, he was picked up by Darius Knezevic (Alec Secareanu) and confirmed his plans to kill Catherine (Sarah Lancashire) before fleeing the country for a new life in Marbella with Ryan (Rhys Connah).
Ryan is currently in hiding with Clare (Siobhan Finneran) and Neil (Con O’Neill) at Nevison Gallagher’s house while Catherine is on the hunt for Tommy.
However, Tommy somehow managed to make contact with Ryan through his gaming console, even though Ryan couldn’t remember ever giving his dad his user name.
So how did Tommy really track Ryan down? Perhaps Ryan not remembering ever mentioning his gaming ID is the giveaway.

Well, after many fans guessed Neil is Tommy’s father, they now think he’s just gone one step further to help Tommy’s escape to Spain with Ryan.
‘I bet Neil gave Tommy Ryan’s gaming handle. Im convinced he has more to do with it,’ wrote one viewer, while another agreed: ‘Might Tommy have been able to contact Ryan via the game cos it was Neil who shared his ID..? Ryan didn’t recall sharing that info with him…’
Many more are just as suspicious of Neil, particularly after he was fairly absent in the latest episode.
‘Also Neil too quiet for my liking this week,’ noted someone else. ‘My writer spidey senses tells me a twist is coming.’
James Norton recently revealed his reaction to the ending, and assured it will be a satisfying finale, albeit a tough watch.
While we’re all praying for Catherine, let’s face it – not everyone is going to make it out alive.
Happy Valley concludes Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
