Gwen Stefani has responded to a fan who claims she owes her life to climbing up on stage at the singer’s gigs.
The 22-year-old Brooklyn woman, who is a huge fan of the Hollaback Girl hitmaker, was punched and then pushed onto the subway tracks in a random attack in September.
Speaking to Fox 5 the following month, the superfan – who wasn’t named by the outlet – revealed how her experiences at Gwen’s live shows meant her body was able to react and get out of harm’s way.
‘It’s because Gwen’s called me on stage so many times, that’s why my body knew what to do,’ she said at the time. ‘I looked like a monster. Like my face was all swollen, I didn’t even know I had a black eye til I looked in the mirror.’
Now, The Voice star has revealed how she has grown to know the fan, who has been to ‘a million’ of her concerts over the years, and they struck up a rapport on social media.
‘I know her and I follow her. In fact, I just saw her, right when we left The Drew Barrymore Show,’ Gwen told the WSJ Magazine. ‘She’s come to a million of my shows, she dresses like me.

‘I don’t follow a ton of fans, but a few years ago when I was doing the Vegas show, I started following people randomly. Then you think you know them because you see them every day. She happens to be one of them.’
Gwen also revealed she had some advice for her fan following the terrifying incident.
She added: ‘The fact that that happened to her, I was like, “You need to move out of the city.” ‘
Meanwhile, the woman had admitted to Fox 5 that she has been ‘changed’ by the horrifying incident, which has left her struggling to ‘trust anyone anymore’.
‘I just think everybody that looks at me is gonna hurt me,’ she said. ‘That’s what’s changed about me, I don’t trust anyone anymore. I think everyone’s going to hurt me now.’
