What’s in the cards for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2? (pic: Activision)
There is a lot of new content on the horizon for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, including new modes and ranked play for the battle royale.
Season 2 just dropped across both Call Of Duty sequels, bringing with it a brand new battle pass along with new modes, maps, and operator Ronin.
However, Activision has planned all the way through to Season 3, which judging from previous seasons could arrive around mid April to early May (if there are no delays).
The official patch notes were published a day after the update and if you scroll all the way to the bottom, you’ll find hints about what’s to come in Season 2 Reloaded and Season 3.
The Season 2 Reloaded update was rumoured to go live in the beginning of March, athough that was before the announcement of Season 2’s delay.
Activision has teased a new limited time holiday event for the Season 2 Reloaded update. Given the timing of the update, this could very likely be a St Patrick’s Day special, as the celebration falls on March 17.
Various Call Of Duty titles have featured a St Patrick’s Day event, with special bundles released on the day, so it’s pretty likely that’s what’s going on.

You can also look forward to a brand-new Raid episode, new multiplayer modes, and a new 6v6 multiplayer map, Activision confirmed.
Although all these changes are welcome, Season 3 looks much more exciting for Warzone 2 players, as the developers have revealed ranked play will finally arrive in the battle royale.
The Plunder mode was also confirmed to be returning to Warzone 2, where players are tasked with gathering as much in-game cash as possible.
Another fan favourite mode that’ll make a comeback to Modern Warfare 2 is Gun Fight, which is very similar to the existing Knockout mode.
The addition of Gun Fight was uncovered by leakers not too long ago, although it was speculated it would get added with the Season 2 update.

More: Call of Duty
Despite Activision not mentioning Gun Fight tournaments, it’s likely that they’ll return too, as they are another well-liked feature of Modern Warfare 2.
Last but not least, an image of a presumably new map was included in the patch notes, giving you a sneak peek into the new area.
It looks like a winter resort in the snowy mountains where you’ll be called to battle it out across pools at the ‘Congress Spa’ area. The title of the map hasn’t been revealed yet, and probably won’t be for a while.
The image is marked as ‘MP map’ which probably means it’ll be added to standard multiplayer rather than any of the other modes.
