This cat is still searching for a new home after more than 100 days at a rescue centre, as he keeps being overlooked for looking too grumpy.
Flash, 10, was discovered as a stray, but has had little interest from potential new owners due to his age and glum demeanor.
It is believed he had been living on the streets for seven years being fed by locals, as his previous owner left the country.
Yet although he has been branded the ‘grumpiest cat in Oxfordshire’ for his curmudgeonly facial expression, staff at the Blue Cross’ rehoming centre in Burford, Oxfordshire, believe Flash is just misunderstood.
Elisha Webber, Animal Welfare Assistant at Blue Cross Burford, said: ‘He’s a sweet boy and quite a character and we’ve all fallen in love with him.
‘He’s definitely a cat who prefers human company rather than a lapcat.
‘He’s coming on leaps and bounds in cattery now, he’s very inquisitive and enjoys watching and being around other cats.’

When he first came to the centre, his life on the streets meant he found it difficult to trust humans, something the team have been working on.
‘He still struggles to trust people and his temperament is “I’m okay being in your presence, but don’t touch me”,’ Elisha commented.

Flash’s new owner will need to be understanding of his need for independence, giving him time to warm up to stroking and affection.
As for his temperament around fellow felines, his listing reads: ‘I’m very inquisitive and really enjoy watching and interacting with other cats, especially the kittens I currently have next door to me, so I’d be happy living with a confident, social cat, pending slow introductions.’

Elisha added: ‘As his history is pretty unknown we’re looking for a specific home for him, ideally a farm/yard type home with a heated outhouse or similar.
‘We’ll need his owners to still care and feed for him and allow him access to their home if he likes.’

It’s thought that Flash may change his behaviour over time, so his ideal home is one where he’s well looked after – just on his own terms.
After more than three months at the rehoming centre, hopefully his new family will be worth the wait.
All Flash needs is to find someone willing to look past that sour puss and see the loving pet he could be. After all, who hasn’t been accused of resting bitch face at one time or another?
Anyone wishing to provide Flash with the home he needs can visit the Blue Cross website for more details.
