The winner of The Great British Bake Off 2022 has been announced, with Syabira receiving the coveted title after weeks of hard work in the tent.
The final was nail-biting and extremely tricky to say the least, not to mention dramatic with Noel Fielding’s unexpected absence at the start of the programme.
When Syabira was eventuallly declared the victor, her fellow finalists Abdul and Sandro couldn’t have been more happy for her.
‘I can’t believe it. It honestly hasn’t sinked down. It’s unbelievable,’ Syabira told the camera in shock, adding: ‘This is the biggest achievement of my life.’
Sandro appeared to become emotional as he stressed that Syabira ‘fully deserves this’, while Abdul said: ‘You could see in her how hard she has worked for this.’
This year’s series saw Syabira, Abdul and Sandro make it to the final, after initially beginning among a group of 12 contestants.

They’d each had their turn being named the Star Bakers by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, with Sandro being the first to receive the honour in week five.
Syabira had an three-time incredible run, being named Star Baker consecutively from weeks six to eight, while Abdul finally received the title in week nine, one episode away from the final.
When the final episode finally arrived, Syabira, Sandro and Abdul each had just one Signature, Technical and Showstopper challenge left to prove they had what it takes to be crowned the winner by the judges.

As presenters Noel and Matt Lucas looked on, the victorious baker’s hard work paid off as they found out they’d achieved their dream.
Throughout the competition, Sandro was commended from his beautifully-decorative bakers, astounding the judges with his intricate bakes.
Abdul has been a consistent dark horse, demonstrating his strength as a baker but not rising to the top of the ranking until the penultimate episode.
Syabira, meanwhile, has been bold and ambitious with her flavours and delivered some of the most striking designs ever seen in the Bake Off tent.
For the first challenge of the final, the bakers were tasked with pulling off a packed summer picnic for their Signature, complete with pies and traditional finger sandwiches.
The Technical saw Paul have the trio bake a summer pudding bombe, an extremely difficult dish to make at any point let alone in the heat of summer when the show was filmed.
Then, for the last, epic Showstopper of the series, the finalists had to devise edible sculptures. No mean feat!
The Great British Bake Off is available to watch on All 4.
