Graeme Souness has revealed his title prediction for the new Premier League season as Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool look to end Manchester City’s dominance.
Man City reeled in long-time leaders Arsenal to win their third successive league title on the way to securing a historic treble last season.
The Gunners have already spent over £200m this summer as they target another title challenge, while Manchester United and Liverpool are expected to improve and get closer to Pep Guardiola’s side.
Souness has tipped Man City to win the Premier League for the fourth year in a row but expects Arsenal to mount another challenge after ‘bottling’ the title last term.
‘I don’t think the Premier League is in danger of becoming a one-trick pony, but I do think Manchester City will be champions again,’ Souness told the Sky Bet Fan Hope Survey.
‘They are the strongest team, they’ve got the best group of players I’ve ever known in the Premier League, because they have the structure right – they have football people making footballing decisions.
‘They’ve got a manager [Pep Guardiola] who is vastly experienced and successful. They’ve got the best players – and it’s the best players that win you leagues. I think there will be the same challenger this year – Arsenal will challenge City.

‘Arsenal would have won the league if that had a little bit more experience and retained a little bit more belief at difficult times. You look at Arsenal last year, there were no serial winners in their team, when they were way out in front.
‘There were those who would not have believed the situation they were in, when they checked the league table on Monday and saw they were 10 points clear.
‘Going into that stretch, City just said to themselves, “let’s just win this game, and eventually Arsenal will be looking over their shoulder that much, their focus will come off their game”, and that’s exactly what happened – Arsenal bottled it.

‘For Arsenal to be challenging for the title again, it’ll be interesting to see if they’re damaged by the experience of last year where – you can’t dress it up, professional sports is a tough business – they collapsed and they bottled it.
‘They were in a great position and Manchester City chased them down. Now, will that have damaged them or add as an incentive to go and dig deeper?
‘Signing Declan Rice will improve them, it’s just a question of how much improvement is there – but City are still the team to catch.’
