Gogglebox star Pete Sandiford took a swipe at Matt Hancock’s blunder on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Hancock has faced a lot of backlash and stirred controversy for his stint in the jungle, yet he remains in the final four with Lioness Jill Scott, soaps star Owen Warner and the camp’s first ever royal Mike Tindall.
While some of the Gogglebox cast have clashed over Hancock’s appearance on the reality series, Pete didn’t hold back from a brutal jibe on Friday’s instalment of the Channel 4 show.
The TV sofa critics were watching a Dingo Dollar challenge, in which the campmates were asked when the Walkman was invented.
And Hancock was absolutely certain he knew the answer, saying he knew which of Sue Cleaver, Babatunde Aleshe and Chris Moyles were born closest to the invention.
‘He’s cocky with that, ain’t he,’ sisters Izzie and Ellie Warner commented.

‘He’s sure that he’s right, I just can’t wait for him to be wrong,’ Pete added.
‘We’ve smashed it,’ Hancock said, before finding out he was, in fact, wrong.
‘Matt’s now thinking, “F**k, how am I going to get out of this?”‘ Pete commented.

The MP apologised to the camp and threw his hands up at the revelation, saying: ‘That is my bad, that is entirely my fault. I feel so bad.’
But Pete had a savage response, as he told his sister Sophie: ‘I love how he feels so bad about losing f*****g chocolate, but the other s**t he’s done in his life, he’s not a***d!’
‘Everybody’s ripping him,’ Pete laughed as they watched Boy George fume over Hancock’s mistake.
And it didn’t stop there.

Later in that episode, Boy George confronted Hancock in a tense clash, after the MP walked in on the Culture Club singer branding him ‘slimy’ and ‘slippery’.
During the awkward conversation, George sarcastically told Hancock: ‘What you thought I was in love with you?’ to which he replied: ‘No I did not.’

The encounter had Pete in hysterics, as he mocked: ‘I wouldn’t kiss you in my office,’ referring to the scandalous incident in which Hancock was caught on leaked CCTV kissing his former aide Gina Coladangelo.
Both were married at the time, and the incident sparked shockwaves through the nation as Hancock had broken Covid-19 ‘guidance’ he had helped to create, something which he later addressed while in the jungle, saying he was ‘looking for forgiveness.’
Gogglebox airs Fridays at 10pm on Channel 4.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
