Glen Johnson has made his top-four prediction ahead of the return of the Premier League later this month.
The English top-flight will resume on Boxing Day after a six-week hiatus for the Qatar World Cup.
Arsenal stormed five points clear at the top of the Premier League in the first-half of the 2021-22 season, taking 37 points from a possible 42 as they seek a first league title since 2004.
Defending champions Manchester City sit second having suffered a shock defeat to Brentford in their final game before the World Cup break.
Newcastle United have only lost one of their 15 league games this season to climb to third, while Tottenham are fourth despite losing three of their last five fixtures.
Manchester United and Liverpool are fifth and sixth respectively, with Chelsea down in eighth after losing three games in a row under Graham Potter.
Despite Chelsea’s alarming wobble, Johnson expects the Blues to finish in the top-four this season alongside London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham and defending champions Manchester City.

The former England defender believes Man City will topple Arsenal to win another Premier League title and reckons both Man United and Liverpool will miss out on Champions League football under Erik ten Hag and Jurgen Klopp.
Asked for his top-four prediction ahead of the return of Premier League football, Johnson told GGRecon: ‘Obviously, Manchester City and Arsenal.
‘For the other two spaces I’m going to go to Chelsea, and I really want to say Liverpool, but I’m really not sure.
Glen Johnson’s predicted top-four
Arsenal
Chelsea
Tottenham
Current top-four:
Arsenal
Manchester City
Newcastle United
Tottenham
‘I’m going to say Tottenham for fourth, which hurts me to say, but if I had to put my money on it, I’d say Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.
‘It would be good for the Premier League if Arsenal won the title. Somebody outside of Manchester City or Liverpool would ruffle the feathers of everyone and bring the league back to life.
‘It’s good for the Premier League if Arsenal win it, but I obviously don’t want them to, but I don’t want Manchester City to win it either.’
