Germany sends weapons for fighting tonight

Germany to send 1,000 anti-tank weapons and 500 surface-to-air missiles to Ukraine. Previously the Germans had sent 5000 helmets but no weapons.

Tonight, at this midnight hour, stark warnings sound of an imminent onslaught against the heart of Kyiv. People are bracing themselves for another tough night in Bunkers and subways.

“In 30-60 mins #Kyiv will be under attack never seen before. #Russia will hit us with all they have,” tweeted MP Lesia Vasylenko.

The Ukrainian military has claimed to have pushed back Russian forces at several points, including the main thoroughfare of Kyiv’s Victory Avenue.

Air raid sirens sound off in Kyiv

Sirens signalling for possible air raids were repeatedly heard in the Ukrainian capital on Saturday night, while the General Staff warned there might be “heavy shelling” during the night, local media outlets reported.
In the meantime, skirmishes on the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital are still ongoing, while Western intelligence reports claim that the Russian army, including columns of armoured vehicles, came as close as 30 kilometres from the city.

Bashar Al Assad says Russia is correcting history

Bashar Al-Assad told Putin on Saturday, what was happening in Ukraine was a “correction of history and restoration of balance which was lost in the world after the breakup of the Soviet Union”, the official SANA news agency quoted the Syrian leader as saying.
