The Royal Family use all sorts of unique and affectionate nicknames when talking to one another and it seems even the youngest members have their own names for their relatives
We identify the members of the Royal Family by their names and titles, but they are known by something else at home with their closest friends and family.
Most royals have their own nicknames, with the Queen’s immediate family referring to her as Lilibet rather than Elizabeth for years, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex honoring the monarch by naming their daughter after her lately.
We also know that when chatting to the Queen, a young Prince William couldn’t say ‘grandma,’ so he referred to her as ‘Gary.’
The new generation of young royals has given their grandparents their own nicknames.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are said to know all about their ‘Granny Diana’ and they are thought to call Prince Charles their ‘Grandpa Wales’.
According to the Daily Mail, Grandpa Wales is named after the Queen’s grandfather, George V, whom she referred to as Grandpa England.
The children, on the other hand, do not refer to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as Grandma or Nanny; instead, they have their own nickname for her.
During the 2016 Royal Variety Performance, the Duchess of Cornwall revealed to Lady Gaga that her grandkids call her “GaGa” too, reports The Sun.
Prince George is supposed to have a charming nickname for his great-grandmother, the Queen, which he refers to as “Gan-Gan.”
“It’s extremely special having a new little girl,” Kate Middleton stated after the birth of Princess Charlotte in 2016. I consider George to be really fortunate to have a younger sister.
“The Queen was really thrilled that it was a little girl, and I think as soon as we came back here to Kensington she was one of our first visitors here.
